Specially Appointed Associate Professor Hisanori Fukunaga received an Encouragement Award

Specially Appointed Associate Professor Hisanori Fukunaga has been awarded the Encouragement Award of the Japan Health Physics Society. Dr. Fukunaga will be honored at the 2021 Symposium of the Health Physics Society of Japan (June 21-22, 2021).

 

The Japan Health Physics Society started as a Japanese branch of the American Health Physics Society in 1961 and became a member of IRPA (International Radiological Protection Association) in 1965. As an academic organization of experts in health physics (radiation protection), the Society aims to contribute to the prosperity of humanity by promoting the development of science and technology related to radiation protection and safety and by reflecting the results in society and practice.

This time, Dr. Fukunaga received the Encouragement Award in recognition to the series of research activities on environmental radiation exposure that he has been engaged in since the Fukushima nuclear power plant accident in 2011.
