Educational and Scientific Webinar Information (3)

Center for Medical Education and International Relations, Faculty of Medicine and Graduate School of Medicine and Center for Environmental and Health Sciences (CEHS) conducted the 3rd Educational and Scientific Webinar entitled “COVID-19 in Australia, and a Real-time Information System for Preparedness and Epidemic Response (CRISPER)on February 3, 2021 (18:15-19:45 JST). The invited speaker was Prof. Colleen Lau from the University of Queensland.

Prof. Lau is a medical doctor and a researcher in infectious diseases. Her areas of expertise include travel medicine, emerging infectious diseases, neglected tropical diseases, global disease elimination programs, and spatial epidemiology. Her area of special interest is the impact of global environmental change (including climate change, flooding, population growth, urbanization, globalization, and biodiversity loss) on the emergence and transmission of infectious diseases.

In the webinar, Prof. Lau provided a brief overview of the COVID-19 experience in Australia and discussed the development of a real-time information dashboard and interactive mapping tool for COVID-19.
