The project ‘Comprehensive elucidation of health effects of PFAS considering toxic effects, toxicity mechanisms and species differences: an integrated environmental epidemiology-toxicology study’, in which Prof. Ait Bamai is the Principal Investigator, has been selected as a funded study by the Ministry of the Environment and a press release was issued at Hokkaido University.
The research, which will start in June 2024, will assess the health risks of PFAS (organo-fluorine compounds) by combining environmental epidemiological studies based on the ‘Hokkaido Study’ and toxicological studies using cultured cells, etc.
